Edward Fairfax [1580 1635] was considered perhaps the most influential translator of the 17th century, and his work The Recoverie of Jerusalem, here offered, one of the few translations itself considered an original masterpiece of literature. Fairfax is also remembered for a rare early work on Demonology.
